Voltage Support Philippine Community after storm Kristine
A Life-Changing Experience in the Philippines – A Call for Support
How We’re Supporting Charity Relief Efforts After Storm Kristine
When I traveled to Lemery, Batangas, in the Philippines to visit our training facilities, I never expected the trip to be one of the most profoundly life-changing experiences of my life. Just days before my arrival, Storm Kristine tore through the region, leaving unimaginable devastation in its wake. While I had braced myself for some disruption, nothing could have prepared me for the heartbreaking reality I encountered.
Over 150 families, including many young children, were left homeless. Witnessing the extent of their suffering was overwhelming, but it also ignited an unshakable determination to help in any way I could.
Responding to the Immediate Need
Although our training facilities sustained significant damage, it quickly became clear that our challenges paled in comparison to those of the local community. We sprang into action, visiting the town to purchase whatever supplies we could find to aid recovery efforts.
From shovels to help families dig their belongings out of the mud to food for sustenance, we focused on providing practical support. We also bought basketball hoops and balls for the children—a small gesture to help bring some normalcy and joy amidst the chaos.
This small act of service was a reminder of the resilience and spirit of the community, but it also underscored the enormity of the challenges they face.
Turning Determination Into Action
This experience left a lasting impression on me, and I knew I couldn’t stop there. Upon my return, I began exploring ways to expand the impact of our efforts. One idea stood out: a Live Aid-style charity concert to raise funds for the families who need it most.
Drawing inspiration from Bob Geldof and Midge Ure’s iconic efforts, I’ve started reaching out to connections in the Philippines and beyond. I’m working to organize meetings in January to turn this vision into a reality and to mobilize support for these communities.
A Call to Action
Now, I’m asking for your help. Whether you have ideas, connections, or simply a passion for making a difference, I would love to hear from you. Together, we can amplify this message and create a meaningful impact.
Every contribution—whether it’s spreading the word, providing financial support, or offering your time and talent—matters. And if you feel your own “inner Midge Ure” emerging, let’s channel that energy to make this concert a success.
As Bob Geldof famously said, “We need ya money…” But more importantly, we need your heart. Let’s join forces to rebuild lives, restore hope, and show the people of Lemery and Batangas that they are not alone.
